With the weather warming up and the grass growing tall, now is the perfect time to get outside and capture beautiful images. Sometimes we all need a little creative inspiration. Here are some country photoshoot ideas that may be helpful to you.

All of these photos were self-taken with my phone camera on timer mode. I only used natural lighting around sunset time. Lighting variations are due to cloud movement.

Country Photoshoot Ideas

Where I live in Texas, native grasses grow as tall as my waist. They are gorgeous, so I wanted to incorporate them into my country photoshoot.

See me and Ruger in the photo below, checking out a herd of tater tots in the distance. Get ’em boy. Get ’em.

Me and Ruger

You can really see my makeup well in this photo. Guess what! It’s cruelty-free as that is the only kind of cosmetics I wear. In a previous post, I mentioned 5 Reasons To Shop Cruelty-Free. Check it out and pet a pup! Don’t spray their eyeballs with perfume. You don’t have to.

I can find any color, type, or style of cruelty-free makeup, so I don’t have to compromise my fashion tastes to be kind. Cruelty-Free Kitty is an excellent resource that can help direct you to the best ethical makeup brands on the market.

Throughout this shoot, the sun was hiding behind the clouds, but it peeked out just in time for me to grab this shot! The lighting is so warm in this photo compared to the others.

Lighting plays a crucial role in photography, so it’s important to be aware of which way you are oriented in relation to the light. Find the light! Play with different angles of your face, body, and camera. In the photo below, the sun is shining on my face.

In the photo below, the camera is facing me with the sun behind me. You can see this has created almost a silhouette type of look where body movement is more important than facial expression. That is why I positioned my arms and legs so dramatically.

This would have looked almost overly sexual if the sun was shining brightly onto my body and if the grass wasn’t covering my yee-haw!

The lighting was changing with each minute during this shoot. The country photoshoot ideas I want to impart to you are not overly themed as you can tell. But, I hope you can gather some inspiration from the subtle differences in these photos.

Country Photoshoot Ideas - Lake Days

This outfit choice isn’t classic country – it’s more of a modern trucker girl type of look. Lake days photos are so much fun!

I often wear a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt over my bikini to protect me from the harsh Texas sun.

The cowboy boots are functional where I live too. It’s rare for me to go swimming without seeing at least one venomous water moccasin snake! The boots offer protection when stomping around the shoreline, not so much in the water though!

Girl At The Lake

One of the things I hope you gather from these country photoshoot ideas is the difference in lighting. As I mentioned, the previous photos in the grass field were taken around sunset. In contrast, these lake days photos were taken around noon! The difference in lighting intensity sets a tone and inspires a mood.

If you shoot around noon, you’ll likely need some cute shades and maybe even a hat. Otherwise, it will be difficult to give a good expression for the camera because you’ll be too busy squinting.

Below, you’ll find a booty pic, because why not? Forgive the blur and cutting off the head. Taking selfies with a timer in 100-degree weather among jagged rocks and snakes is difficult! Booty pics are great. Play with different angles and you’ll find that some are more flattering than others!

Country Photoshoot Ideas - Implied Nudes

An implied nude means you are naked, and the viewer can tell, but your naughty bits are covered, therefore allowing you to post the photos without calling them full nudes.

This backhoe was left on my sister’s property a long time ago. No one had used it for years, because it had some serious and chronic hydraulic leaking issues. So, I decided to put it to use! That’s my shotgun I’m holding. I may have gone a little overboard with the props!
