Yogurt and Turmeric Face Mask Side Effects

Yogurt Side Effects on Skin

I wasn’t able to find any reliable sources that mention side effects of yogurt on skin, and I have never experienced any side effects from using yogurt on my skin. However, everyone’s skin is different.

If you are worried that yogurt may harm your skin, test a small amount on your skin before committing to the full face mask.

Will Turmeric Stain my Face?

Some sources say turmeric will stain skin. However, I’ve never experienced stains from turmeric, and my skin is very light in color.

If you are worried that this mask will leave a stain, test the mask on a small area of your skin before committing to the full face mask.

Turmeric Allergy Skin Rash

According to Medical News Today, rashes due to turmeric allergies are not common. However, they are possible.

If you are worried that this face mask will cause a rash, test the mask on a small area of your skin before committing to the full face mask.

How to Make Yogurt and Turmeric Face Mask

Making a yogurt and turmeric face mask is easy! This recipe makes enough to use multiple times throughout the week.

  • Place 4 tablespoons of organic Greek yogurt into a small container. (Use a container with a lid to store in the refrigerator for later use.)
  • Place 2 teaspoons of organic turmeric in the container and mix with a spoon until well blended.

Mix the turmeric with the yogurt making sure to blend well.

How to Apply Yogurt and Turmeric Face Mask

  • Clean your face with soap or face wash of choice and dry.
  • Pull back your hair so it is out of the way. I use an elastic headband to hold my bangs back.
  • Apply the mask to your face and neck, massaging it deeply into the pores of your skin.
  • Allow the mask to dry. (I like to apply another layer after the mask has dried, but this step is optional.)
  • After the mask has dried, gently wash it away with warm water.
  • For best results, use your face mask about 2-3 times a week. (Your needs may differ according to your skin type, but I have found that 2-3 times a week works best for my naturally dry skin.)

I like to wear my mask while soaking in the bath. When it dries, I add another layer. When that layer dries, I wash it off with warm water.
