Using Art To Teach Science

Do you love bugs? Would you like to capture beautiful images of bugs in all their glory, but don’t know how to use fancy cameras? You’re in luck because bug photography with your phone is simple!

I’ve heard professional photographers say things like, “It’s crazy how advanced phone cameras have become. Sometimes I leave all of my heavy gear at home and just shoot with my iPhone and still get some amazing shots.”

All of the bug photography in this post was taken with my Samsung Galaxy phone.

This post is a shorty since I have been busy with other things for the past few weeks! But, if you love bugs, maybe you are a fan of shorties! Enjoy!

I’ve linked to a longer bug photography post in the last paragraph.

Bugs That Come Out At Night

One of the perks of working nights at a water treatment plant is that I get to see all of the bugs! Many fascinating creatures come out at night, especially in well lit areas.

This intriguing fellow is the walnut sphinx moth. They are fairly common where I live in Texas. The caterpillar of this moth can make a squeaking sound to scare off predators! Have you ever heard of such a thing?

You don’t have to know what it is to snap a picture of it! Below are some beautiful images to add to my unidentified bug photography collection! Maybe you know what they are?
